Silver Rupee, Poona Mint, Maratha Empire (Ali Gauhar)

Silver 1 Rupee coin of the Maratha Empire, minted at the Poona (Muhiyabad) Mint. These coins are issued in the name of Ali Gauhar - the name of the Mughal ruler Shah Alam II before accession. The mint mark looks like a pair of scissors - see picture 3. These coins were minted in the 1770s-1780s period (approx). 

This is a VERY RARE coin, currently unlisted on Numista. Catalogue Number is KM 290.
