1 Rupee, half silver coins of George VI of 1943 (rare year). From 1940-45, One rupee coins of British India were minted with 50% silver - a drop from 91.7% earlier. This devaluation was caused by the World War II. Coins of 1943 were minted only in the Bombay mint, and in comparatively smaller numbers - making them scarce.
