1 Kyat, Burma, 1953 (Third kyat)
1 Kyat banknote of Burma, issued by the Union Bank of Burma in 1953. This was the third kyat, introduced in 1952 replaced the rupee, and continues to be the currency of Myanmar to date. The pattern is similar to the earlier post-independence notes of Burma, with a peacock on one side and a boat on the other. The banknote also has the image of a peacock as the watermark.
