1 cent bronze coin of Malaya - or British Malaya - territories covering present day Malaysia and Singapore and governed by the British from 1820s to 1957. The currency of Malaya was the dollar, and the cent was 1/100 of that. This is a square coin with rounded corners. The coin features an image of George VI - the initials PM can be seen at the base of the portrait - this portrait was designed by Percy Metcalfe.
