1/2 Tanga, Portuguese India, Carlos 1
1/2or Half Tanga bronze coin of Portuguese India (Goa) minted in the name of Carlos 1 - ruler of Portugal from 1863-1908. The tanga was equal to an anna of British India. These coins were minted in 2 years - 1901 and 1903. The year is carried in Roman Numerals on the obverse - MCMI and MCMIII.
The obverse of the coin has the head of the king, his title and the year. The reverse carries the coat of arms of Portugal and the denomination.
This is a large coin - 30 mm across and 12.7 grams in weight.
