High grade 1 Rupee silver coin issued in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam, by the Bengal Presidency, East India Company. These coins were minted from 1776 to 1812. The front of the coin carries the year (as per Islamic calendar) and the images of the Sun and a fish, while the reverse has the image of a flower. These coins were minted in Muhammadabad Banaras mint. The reginal year of the emperor can also be seen on the reverse.
