Half Anna, Gwalior, Jivaji Rao (1942 AD)

Brass Half Anna (1 anna = 4 paisa = 1/64 rupee) coin of the princely State of Gwalior. The reverse carries the coat of arms of the Gwalior state, while the obverse features a bust of Jivaji Rao Scindhia. Gwalior was one of the important Maratha states, and was ruled by the Scindhia family, which continues to remain prominent in Indian politics to date.
