Dokdo, Bhavnagar
Copper 1 Dokdo (1/24 kori) coin of Bhavnagar state, minted 1759-1760 AD. This coin was minted in the name of Shah Jahan III, the mughal ruler and Bhavsinhji I.
Bhavnagar was a princely state in the Kathiawar region of Gujarat, centered around the port (and modern day town) of Bhavnagar. The port was also responsible for the prosperity of the state. The state was established in 1723 AD by Gohil rajputs, and merged into the Indian union in 1948 AD. The word 'Bahadur' in Devnagari script can be seen on the coin.
