One Rupee, George VI, 1947 (Bombay Mint)
Nickel 1 rupee coin of British India, minted in 1947. Up to 1945, rupee coins were minted in silver - the use of base metals was due to the effect of Second World War. The obverse has the portrait of King George VI, while the reverse has an image of the Indian tiger. These coins were minted in a single year (1947).
These coins were minted in Bombay mint (dot below date), noticeably different from coins minted in Lahore (no mint mark) - see image 3 for comparison.
