25 Naye Paise, 1957-1963

25 paisa coins of India, minted from 1957-63. This is the first issue of 25 paisa, post the decimalization of Indian currency. These coins say "Rupye ka chautha bhaag" (One fourth of a rupee) to clarify its value, and "Naye paise" (New Paisa) - to distinguish it from the old paisa. These coins are made of nickel and are also called 'magnetic coins'. These coins were minted in Bombay and Calcutta.
