20 Escudo silver coin of Mozambique, Overseas province of Portugal. The Escudo was the currency of Portugal and also its 'overseas provinces' - or its empire, which included Angola, Mozambique and Goa, Daman & Diu in India (which shifted to the Escudo in 1958). These coins are very similar to the later Indo-Portuguese coins, with the coat of arms of Mozambique on one side and that of Portugal on the other. These coins were minted from 1952-1960 bearing 3 dates - 1952, 1955 and 1960.
