Copper 1 cash (1/2880 of a pagoda) coin issued by the East India Company, Madras Presidency. These are hand struck coins, minted from 1730-1752 AD. The obverse carries the bale mark of the East India Company, while the reverse has the date. Before 1835, the three Presidencies - Calcutta, Madras and Bombay - minted their own, separate coins.
