Tibet, 100 Srang Banknote, 1942-1959 – tezbid

Tibet, 100 Srang Banknote, 1942-1959

  • Rs. 26,000.00

100 Srang banknote of Tibet - a formerly independent country annexed by China. These notes were printed from 1942-1959, and were numbered by hand. This is a very large banknote - almost half the size of an A4 sheet. The front features two lions - a male and a female - holding a plate of fruit. It also bears two seals - including the circular seal of the Dalai Lama. The reverse features two holy men sitting under a tree, with two cranes and two dear - symbolizing longevity and prosperity respectively. Aspects of Tibetan culture have been destroyed during the Chinese occupation and such notes are increasingly hard to find.

This note is graded 53 (Almost uncirculated) by PMG - a very high grade.

Size: 214 mm*138 mm (almost half of an A4 paper sheet!)
