100 Escudo, Mozambique, 1976
100 Escudo Banknote of Mozambique, 1976. These banknotes were printed for the Portuguese overseas province of Mozambique but were later used after Mozambique achieved independence from Portugal (1975). The notes carry the overprint of 'Bank of Mozambique' on the obverse. The obverse also carries the name 'Banco Nacional Ultramarino' - a bank specifically set up by Portugal for issuing banknotes in its overseas provinces/empire.
